Mice treated with these extracts showed enhanced hair regrowth comparable to minoxidil, a known hair growth treatment. The study found increased alkaline phosphatase activity, reduced TGF-β expression, and elevated VEGF expression, indicating improved follicular conditions and anagen induction. Histological and electron microscopy analyses confirmed increased dermal thickness, follicular development, hair density, and shaft diameter. These results suggest that E. ophiuroides-derived fractions could be effective natural agents for promoting hair growth.
