This study compared the efficacy of oral tofacitinib and oral minoxidil in treating alopecia areata in 58 patients over 12 weeks. Patients were divided into two groups, with Group A receiving tofacitinib and Group B receiving minoxidil. Efficacy was measured by a ≥50% reduction in the Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score. Results showed that 86.2% of patients in the tofacitinib group achieved efficacy compared to 62.1% in the minoxidil group, with a significantly greater mean SALT score reduction in the tofacitinib group. The study concluded that oral tofacitinib is more effective than oral minoxidil in reducing disease severity and achieving higher treatment response rates in alopecia areata patients.

The study successfully formulated a stable topical cream containing 1% ivermectin for the treatment of rosacea, a condition linked to Demodex mites. Over a six-month period, the cream maintained its physical stability, with no changes in appearance, density, viscosity, pH, or uniformity, and showed no microbial contamination. The findings suggest that this ivermectin cream could reduce the need for chronic antibiotic use in rosacea treatment, providing a high-potential alternative for physicians to prescribe.
