May 2026 in “Advanced Materials Interfaces” This study presents a novel coating for hair keratin fibers using delaminated Ti3C2 MXene nano-sheets combined with metal-polyphenol networks (MPN) made from multivalent metal cations and tea catechin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). The coating provides multifunctional protection, including UV screening, rapid thermal dissipation, enhanced mechanical strength, reduced charge accumulation, and sustained antioxidation activity. Additionally, it restores the wettability of human keratin fibers. This robust and bio-compatible coating method offers a significant improvement over conventional haircare products and can be applied to other 2D nanomaterials for bio-interface protection.
